ORGANIZATION AND ACTIVITY OF COLLECTIVE FARMS IN ELETS DISTRICT OF OREL PROVINCE IN 1918-1919

Abstract. The author researches the problem of Bolshevist agrarian construction in Elets village in 1918-1919. Collective farms were provided with advantages over small individual farms. According to the Bolsheviks’ opinion, agrarian transformations should have led to collectivization, by which they sought to take control over isolated farms, combining them into communes, artels and associations. But collective farms, along with state farms, having a number of advantages of organizational-economic nature in comparison with individual farms, found no support among peasants. These contradictions determined the further fate of the Russian agrarian sector of economy.
