MODERN FOREIGN EMPIRICAL AND APPLIED RESEARCHES OF POLITICAL ELITES

Abstract. The author reveals the notions "elite" and "the mechanism of political elite recruitment", in addition analyzes a number of modern foreign and Russian empirical and applied researches of political elites, especially those that were conducted during the last decade, and considers the array of researches that pay special attention to elite formation process in various countries of the world.
