THE I ST SEPARATE CZECHOSLOVAK BRIGADE PARTICIPATION IN ZHITOMIR-BERDICHEV OFFENSIVE OPERATION OF THE FIRST UKRAINIAN FRONT FORCES IN DECEMBER 1943 – JANUARY 1944

Abstract. The author studies the First Separate Czechoslovak Brigade participation in Zhitomir-Berdichev offensive operation of the First Ukrainian Front forces in December 1943 – January 1944, basing on archival sources researches the interaction of separate Czechoslovak and Soviet units during the general attack of the Red Army, and shows how the performance of specific military tasks by separate sub-units of the Czechoslovak unit affected the overall success of the offensive operation of the First Ukrainian Front forces.
