Abstract. The article presents some basic sections of the category of being that is fundamental for philosophical ontology. This will reveal the breadth and complexity of this notion and the features of its understanding in different types of world view. Since being is a very general notion, where the traditional ways of studying and determination do not work, the revelation of the structure seems to be almost the only way of the understanding of its content.
