PARADIGM AS MEANS OF METATHEORETIC ANALYSIS IN SOCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Abstract. The article considers the use of the notion "paradigm" by social theorists; analyzes the situation of the multiparadigmatic character of social knowledge and the tendency of social scientists to create a single universal social paradigm. The author concludes that the creation of such a universal social paradigm is problematic.
