Abstract. Basing on the analysis of Kizlyar commandant’s archive the authors for the first time consider the rights and authorities of Derbent commandant, and single them out into the object of a separate research that allows revealing the specificity and particular content of the studied subject. The authors objectively conclude that the jurisdiction of Derbent commandant involved not only administrative, but also financial and economic functions.
