ACTIVITY OF URBAN AUTHORITIES IN SARANSK TO COMBAT CHOLERA EPIDEMY IN THE TOWN AT THE END OF THE XIX CENTURY

Abstract. The article considers the basic measures of local government in Saransk to combat cholera epidemy in the town at the end of the XIX century. The organization of anti-choleraic measures, the activity of the town doctors and sanitary-executive commission, the arrangements initiated to localize and stop cholera are analyzed. The paper generalizes topical material on the studied theme and new archival data is introduced for scientific use.
