TOWNSPEOPLE’S NUTRITION DURING CIVIL WAR YEARS (BY MATERIALS OF PENZA PROVINCE)

Abstract. This article discusses the issue of Penza province townspeople’s nutrition during the Civil War years. Main attention is focused on the problems related to food ensuring that were very topical for the authorities and urban inhabitants, as well as the ways, which they tried to find for the solution of the problems. The paper investigates the methods that the townspeople found in order to provide themselves with food, the peculiarities and character of nutrition. The author also examines the causes of the situation with food at that time and its consequences for the everyday life of urban inhabitants.
