ICON AS REPRESENTATIVE OF MODERN CULTURE TRANSFORMATIONS OF SIBERIA OLD BELIEVERS

Abstract. In the article the culturological analysis of an icon, which has revealed the general tendency of worldliness for the modern Old Believers of Siberia, is presented. The unification of new Orthodox and Old Believers’ artistic traditions takes place, plots and techniques are borrowed. The process of making culture a museum one, the conservation of not numerous artefacts that become valuable only for a narrow circle of specialists are noted. The author concludes that historical-religious methodological approach in the study of Old Believers’ culture gradually changes to culturological one.
