Abstract. In the article problems connected with the definition of such notions as "historical myth", "subject of historical myth", which do not presume a clear unambiguous definition owing to various reasons, are considered. The subject of historical myth is characterized by paradoxicality conditioned by singling out two types of the subject. Such classification is based on the internal and external perception of historical myth. The characteristic of the subject of myth "carrier" is given, the classification of historical myth based on external perception is suggested.
