THE SOUTH OSSETIAN ISSUE IN POLICY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION (1991-2013): ANALYSIS OF SOURCE BASE

Abstract. In the article the source base of the research of the role, peculiarities and methods of the foreign policy of the Russian Federation in South Ossetia (1991-2013) is analyzed. The author’s grouping of sources allows retracing the specificity of their formation and revealing the peculiarities of each group, which influence the ideas of scientific circles about the South Ossetian issue in the policy of Russia. The presented analysis allows assessing objectively the transformation of the policy of the Russian Federation concerning South Ossetia in historical perspective.
