ELECTRONIC HISTORICAL SOURCE: PROBLEMS AND POSSIBILITIES

Abstract. In the article the problems arisen with the appearance of electronic historical sources are studied. Until recently electronic documents being copies of originals were considered as electronic historical sources. However the development of computer technologies and the way of the creation and transfer of information connected with it lead to the fact that electronic sources can become primary one in the full sense of the word. For the revelation of the peculiarities of electronic historical sources the author makes an attempt to identify their place among other types of sources and conducts the typology.
