INFLUENCE OF THE SOVIET CULTURE ON DEVELOPMENT OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ART IN THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. The article examines discourse on the status role of photographic art in the Russian culture formed under the influence of the strict centralized political power of the USSR. The author investigates the evolution of genres in photographic art as a result of the artistic representation of changes in sociocultural space. For the first time the paper describes the author’s original approach to the interpretation of the basic stages of the formation of the soviet photographic school. The researcher concludes on the role of the soviet photographic art, which was influenced by the contradictory sociocultural policy of the state in the XX century.
