PATRIMONIAL JUSTICE IN THE SYSTEM OF POSSESSORY PATRONIZING OF PEASANTRY BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE COUNTS SHEREMETEVS’ UPPER VOLGA PATRIMONIES AT THE END OF THE XVIII - IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY

Abstract. The article provides an analysis of the measures regarding patrimonial justice used by the count N. P. Sheremetev to maintain the economic stability of the peasant economy, to protect the population from oppressions on the part of the patrimonial administration. The author examines the basic mechanisms of influence fixed in the "Set of Rules to Administer the Patrimonies of 1725-1811" and other normative documents: monetary penalties, corporal punishments. The paper presents a description of the structure of the judicial system that existed in the Sheremetevs’ patrimonies, and also the description of arbitration court institution, which was developed on the basis of the count’s injunctions.
