TYPES OF RURAL AGRICULTURAL SETTLEMENTS IN WESTERN SIBERIA IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX - AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Tatarnikova Anna Ivanovna
Tobolsk Complex Scientific Station of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences

Abstract. The author describes the types of rural settlements, which are widespread in Western Siberia, and shows the dependence of the typical characteristic of a settlement on the nature of land use. It is concluded that communal land tenure gave life to villages, the private one (often predatory) - to isolated farms and odinas, and the household one - to farmsteads. In the older areas of agricultural development in Western Siberia such settlements as vyseloks, zaseloks appeared as a consequence of land tightness. The intensive development of new territories led to the appearance of isolated farms.
