MODAL AND INTONATION ASPECTS OF SHAMANISTIC CHANTS IN THE YAKUT EPOS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF SAMPLES PERFORMED BY U. G. NOKHSOROV)

Abstract. The article analyzes the pitch structure of shamanistic chants in the Yakut epos olonkho. For the first time the paper examines two shamanistic chants performed by the outstanding Yakut narrator Ustin Gavril'evich Nokhsorov. The author presents the complete notation and musical analysis of two parts of olonkho representing the combination of several types of intoning. For the first time the researcher describes the musical structure and plot development of the chapter "Appeal to Spirits" in olonkho.
