CLIO AS MIRRORED BY POSTMODERNISM: LINGUISTIC EXPLICATIONS OF HISTORY AND HISTORICISM

Abstract. The article considers the essence of "linguistic turn" in historical cognition. By the material of philosophical and historical conceptions by R. Barth, H. White, F. Ankersmit and others, the meaning and methodological consequences of narration and the gain of suggestive practices in historiography are revealed. The author shows that new methodological techniques in historical cognition, deconstruction and erasing differences between historiography and literature can expand the epistemological possibilities of academic historical science.
