Abstract. The article reveals the activity of the Yakut composer Kirill Afanasievich Gerasimov, who is a member of the Composers’ Union of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The topicality of the subject is emphasized by the lack of musicological works dedicated to the creative work and activity of the composer. The author pays particular attention to the creative activity of K. A. Gerasimov, which is closely connected with his conductor’s, pedagogical, public and publishing activity. The paper also touches upon the issues of composing music in different genres and the performance of created works at concerts, festivals and competitions of various levels.
