MULTISYLLABIC LYRICAL SONGS OF THE NORTHEASTERN BASHKIRS: TO THE PROBLEM OF COMPARATIVE STUDY

Abstract. The article for the first time undertakes a comparative study of two related phenomena - the multisyllabic lyrical songs of the Bashkirs and Kazan Tatars. The consideration of various parameters of song samples organization - poetic and musical - gives an opportunity to show the uniqueness of the Bashkir tradition of "drawling" intonation and thus to ascertain the stylistic differentiation of the compared phenomena. Samples representing the little-studied local tradition of the northeastern Bashkirs are the material of the study.
