PHILOSOPHY OF MUSIC: CHOIRMASTER’S EAR AS A SOCIOCULTURAL PHENOMENON

Abstract. The article deals with ear for music as a sociocultural phenomenon and its variety - choirmaster’s ear - within philosophy of music. The conception of the research is defined by the understanding of choirmaster’s ear as a multifunctional phenomenon. It is proved that level approach can be used for choirmaster’s ear. It is shown that this musical ability has characteristics of a complex hierarchical system.
