DOCTRINE OF RECOGNITION AND EXECUTION OF FOREIGN COURT VERDICTS IN THE USA PROCEDURAL LAW: BASIC ASPECTS AND PROBLEMS

Abstract. The article examines the basic aspects of the American doctrine of the recognition and execution of foreign court verdicts, its key acts and judicial precedents. In Russian juridical science the comprehensive analysis of the doctrine has not been carried out in spite of the growing number of civil cases examined under American jurisdiction with the participation of Russian citizens. The author indicates that the doctrine of recognition was formed in judicial practice in connection with Hilton v. Guyot case examined in 1895 and later on was developed in unified federal acts and state laws. The researcher identifies certain problems existing in law enforcement practice.
