MIMESIS OF SPACE IN TECHNOLOGIES OF MUSICAL SOUND RECORDING

Sibiryakov Vasilii Nikolaevich
Lomonosov Moscow State University

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the esthetic category of mimesis by the example of spatiality in sound recording. The author follows the manifestation of mimesis in such techniques of sound processing as artificial reverberation and echo creating conditions for the idealization of acoustic space. Special attention is paid to the semantic meaning and esthetic potential of spatial sound effects in the categories of time and memory. Their mimetic nature is revealed through mythology that points at irrational basis in music.
