PLACE OF PRECARIAT IN SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF MODERN SOCIETY: CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF DISCUSSION ON G. STANDING’S CONCEPTION

Abstract. The book by G. Standing "The Precariat: The New Dangerous Class" caused extensive scientific discussion on the conception of precariat as a social class with the high level of vulnerability in labour process. The absence of integrated approach to understanding precariat conditions the necessity to study the existing views on this problem. The research allowed identifying three groups of views on precariat nature. The paper concludes that precariat occupies an intermediate position in the social structure of the modern society.
