Abstract. The article deals with different models of "the good society": a liberal model (J. Galbraith), a communitarian model (A. Etzioni), and a national model (V. G. Fedotova). The author supposes that "the good society" is a relevant social normative ideal. The paradoxicality of this ideal lies in the fact that it is fundamentally achievable. In the post-modernist world "the good society" has an advantage over various variants of social utopias; however, the popularization of this concept requires the realization of the typification of good.
