SACRAL AND CULTUROLOGICAL MEANING OF TEMPLE SYMBOLISM

Abstract. The article introduces temple symbolism manifesting itself in sacral and culturological meanings. Thus, temples are a chronicle, in which the heroic epos of the Russian nation is recorded. The power and greatness of national feats, patriotism and love of freedom are expressed through the symbolism of church architecture. Temple symbol in its culturological meaning is represented in the social topos. The symbolism of a temple becomes a topographic landmark for a human, has sign and marker functions in space.
