POLEMICS BETWEEN TAREEV AND FLORENSKY ON THE ESSENCE OF HUMAN BEING

Abstract. The article is devoted to polemics on the essence of a human being in M. M. Tareev’s and the priest Pavel Florensky’s religious and philosophical heritage. Particular attention is paid to the study of the main works of these thinkers, revealing their anthropological views. As a result, the author reveals completely different points of view on the problem of the essence of a human being. M. M. Tareev is a supporter of "solitary consciousness", the predominance of subjective knowledge of God over the general church one. In P. A. Florensky’s philosophical reflections the first place is given to conciliarity, the union of all people in God, in spiritual self-gathering opening the way to the transformation of the whole creatures’ world.
