EDUCATION AS A SOCIAL PHENOMENON IN THE CONTEXT OF TRANSFORMATIONAL PROCESSES OF THE RUSSIAN SOCIETY

Abstract. The article raises the problem of the social-philosophical analysis of higher education in the conditions of transformation of the Russian society in the context of the classical metaparadigm. In the framework of P. A. Sorokin’s theory the author examines different kinds of social "deformations", which are reflected in the system of education, including the higher one, and have a significant impact on intellectual, moral and cultural state of representatives of the educational community. It is shown that education in the conditions of social polarization and cultural disintegration of the Russian society predetermines qualitative components of social status of the individual.
