Abstract. In order to reveal local specificity of song tradition of the southern Tuvans of the Erzin district of Tuva the author of the article on the basis of published and field materials analyzes the number of tunes, the modal and melodic composition of the first syllabic-rhythmic type (SRT) of the song genre "kozhamyk" of the Erzin Tuvans. Comparison between the tunes of the first SRT of the Erzin Tuvans and the Tozhu Tuvans is presented. As a result of the research it is shown that only two out of the eight tunes of the SRT-1 coincide in the two local song cultures. Four Erzin and two Tozhu tunes are independent.
