PLATO’S DOCTRINE OF EXISTENCE AND STABILITY

Trofimova Yuliya Aleksandrovna

Submitted: 12.07.2018
Abstract. The article analyzes the interpretation of existence by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato. It is shown that existence as the world of ideas is characterized as eternal and unchangeable, as "identity to itself"; existence is considered stable and an antithesis to formation and alternation. Things are unstable and changeable. Beyond changeable things stable "true existence" can be discovered. "True existence" is the world of ideas, and the world of perceptual things is superficial existence. The author clarifies the notion of stability, emphasizes the importance of studying the problem of permanent and changeable when developing the conception of "modeling".
