SONORISM IN MODERN VIOLIN COMPOSITIONS

Kudashova Valentina Anatol'evna
Magnitogorsk State Conservatory (Academy) named after M. I. Glinka

Submitted: 04.11.2019
Abstract. The article covers various aspects of sonorous compositional technique in violin compositions of the second half of the XX - the beginning of the XXI century. For the first time, the paper considers timbre-sonorous specificity of modern violin compositions. Composers’ innovative approaches to components of musical texture are analysed. The role of sonorous technique to reveal an acoustic expressive potential of the violin is examined. Analysing scores, musical and performer’s texts, the researcher focuses her attention on specific and non-specific performance techniques, sound extraction and sound articulation techniques creating vivid sonorous effects and broadening coloristic framework of the violin’s acoustic image.
