MATHEMATICAL NATURE OF NEWTONIAN PHYSICS IN THE CONTENT OF NEW EUROPEAN SCIENCE

Torubarova Tat’yana Viktorovna
Kursk State University

Submitted: 26.02.2019
Abstract. The article is devoted to interpreting the modern age science as mathesis universalis. To clarify the importance of the intellectual revolution provoked by Newton’s First Law, the author analyses Aristotle’s, Plato’s, Galilei’s and Descartes’s fundamental provisions and tackles the problem of applying Newton’s First Law, considering the fact that it introduces a new conceptual approach, a mathematical one. The paper reveals the mathematical nature of the new European science. The findings indicate that Newton’s revolution in natural science promoted the formation of a new fundamental metaphysical approach, which determined a new attitude towards the matter and the truth.
