THE SIBERIAN MORDOVIAN FOLKLORE IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN CULTURE (ADAPTATION OF MEDIA SOURCES TO FOLK SONG TRADITION)

Abstract. Within the framework of studying the modern state of the Siberian Mordovians folk traditions, the article examines the processses of interaction of folk tradition and media culture. One of the ways to adapt media sources to folk song tradition is the translation of authors songs and folk songs from Russian into the national language. Relying on field materials of 2007-2019, the paper analyses song texts borrowed from media sources including those translated into the native language and used in local folkloric traditions of the Siberian Mordovians.
