Abstract. The article analyses transformation of anthropocentric conceptions in the Russian philosophy under immersion into alien cultural and philosophical environment. Relevance of the study involves analysing self-identification of a creative personality who originally belonged to a certain philosophical culture and suddenly found himself in alien environment-culture-philosophy that propagates other values and postulates. Originality of the study is conditioned by the fact that the authors tackle such an important and, as it has turned out, insufficiently investigated philosophical problem as specificity of the Russian anthropocentrism of the beginning of the XX century and examine the motive of a personality’s self-identification in the context of the norm and genius paradigm by the example of V. Nabokov’s critical heritage.
