Periodisation of the Bayan-Accordion Art Development in China

Abstract. The study aims to offer a periodisation describing the bayan-accordion art development in China. The work is novel in that it provides an insight into the general picture and development prospects of the Chinese bayan-accordion art, creates a more universal periodisation. Having contrasted evolution stages of the Chinese and Russian schools and having compared variants of their division and descriptions of the identified stages essence, proposed by Wang Decong, Zhao Yan, Zhang Ziqiang, the author has developed an original view on this issue. The terminological base of the new periodisation was comprised of the terms introduced by O. I. Speshilova, which characterise development stages of the bayan-accordion art in the Russian culture - "adaptation", "specialisation" and "academisation".
