Information Risks during the Pandemic

Abstract. The study aims to provide an insight into how information influences the phenomenon of personality and social processes during the spread of coronavirus infection, to develop recommendations for protection against and counteraction of false information. The article sheds light on the notion "infodemic", considers the main reasons for its spread, gives a typology of texts dealing with the pandemic, identifies the main risks of information epidemic and also considers the global and Russian practices to counter its spread. Scientific novelty of the study lies in assessing impact of the infodemic on processes of consolidation and solidarization of the society, in summarising and developing measures to combat the information virus. As a result, the researchers have formulated recommendations aimed at combating spread of the information epidemic and protecting against its consequences.
