Allegorical Language as Phenomenon of Cinematic Folklorisation of the USSR’s Multinational Cinema in the 1960-70s

Abstract. The purpose of the article is to comprehend resort to allegory by means of folklore made by the Soviet multinational cinema authors of the 60-70s. Scientific novelty lies in specifying the features peculiar to the cinematic language of the poetic films of national republics oriented at the iconic dominant and folklore material. The result of the work proves that allegorical language was a necessary condition for solving artistic problems under censorship during the considered period and also that it became a basis for cinematic folklorisation and a means for forming the style of films belonging to a separate movement within the multinational Soviet cinema.
