CATEGORY OF REASON AND ITS LEXICAL-GRAMMATICAL REPRESENTATION IN ENGLISH DIALOGUE

Abstract.
The article discloses the essence of reason category in philosophical and linguistic aspects, and also the analysis of its representation in the English dialogue at lexical and grammatical language levels. The problem of cause-and-effect relations research attracts scientists of different disciplines. This is explained by the fact that cause-and-effect relations are in the basis of how the person perceives and cognizes the surrounding world. The main aim of the article was to disclose, analyze and compare the semantic and grammatical features of reason category representation in the English dialogue. By the example of dialogues taken from the English works of fiction the author considers the use of the nouns ‘cause’ and ‘reason’, the conjunctions ‘because’, ‘as’, ‘since’ and ‘for’, and also gives the classification of reasons types.
