Abstract. This article seeks to examine different types of vocational self-education and situations, in which they occur. As a result of the conducted analysis, the authors propose a classification for vocational self-education according to process character and obtained result, motivation conditions and vocational activity direction. The need for vocational self-education in any field of activity is identified and substantiated.
