Abstract.
The article shows the views of modern foreign researchers on the generation “Y”, particularly on its main characteristics from the positions of the “theory of generations” in the context of network informational-communicative society. Basing on original sources the author gives different definitions of this generation, reveals the most important tendencies of studying the problem of ambiguous attitude towards the “innate electronic literacy” and technological “advancement” of modern young people.
