Abstract.
The article is devoted to a new phenomenon in the history of mankind, which was called “the demographic ageing of population”. The main causes of this phenomenon beginning, the peculiarities of ageing process in the world, Russia and Vologda region are considered on the basis of several indicators. The author’s classification of the key aspects of demographic ageing consequences in various spheres of society’s life activity is shown.
