Abstract.
The article discusses the methodological problems of the category “territorial community” use caused by the existence of its various sense aspects. Different authors’ approaches to the understanding of the term are compared, the characteristics of territorial behaviour are given, its subject is singled out. The author argues that in social sense territory should always be reflexed by the subjects of territorial interaction.
