L. COSER ABOUT SOCIAL CONFLICT

Abstract. This article analyzes the main theses of L. Coser’s monograph devoted to the study of the positive functions of social conflict. L. Coser’s work is based on G. Simmel’s main ideas about conflicts and at the same time he complements and specifies them, compares them with other authors’ theoretical positions and brings certain scientific-methodological clarity in the theory of conflicts. The paper analyzes L. Coser’s theses in detail, reflects the main corrections and additions brought by him in G. Simmel’s and other authors’ basic ideas about social conflicts.
