Abstract. The article reveals a new approach to the understanding of the traditional theory of linear architectural perspective, which was founded during the Renaissance but currently does not meet the modern requirements of simplicity and the rationality of its construction on the basis of the orthogonal projections of the object. The proposed approach is based on the use of the author’s apparatus of central movable projection and the accepted conception of understanding the object and its image as the complex systems of interrelated elements that forms an effective pedagogical technology of teaching the rational theory of linear perspective to future architects.
