V. V. PUTIN’S POLITICAL STYLE AS ELEMENT OF DISCOURSE-ANALYSIS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF SPEECH WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF VALDAI CLUB MEETING)

Abstract.
The paper aims to identify the basic stylistic indications of V. V. Putin’s public speech. The analysis of the presidential political style involves discursive approach. Firstly, the article introduces the definitions of the concepts “discourse” and “political discourse”; secondly, the authors identify relation between the concepts “political discourse” and “political style”: according to them, in political style everything that promotes the better understanding of its characteristics is considered to be relevant for discourse analysis. To the basic indications of V. V. Putin’s political style investigated by the example of Valdai speech the authors refer antithesis, repetitions, the use of colloquial and emotional linguistic means, the pronoun “we”, which clarify the meaning of certain structural elements of the analyzed political discourse.
