Abstract. The paper analyzes factors related to the victim’s identity and influencing the mechanism of thievery and the process of investigating the thefts of the personal property of citizens, who are on vacation during the holiday season. The article considers the issues of the victim’s behavior as one of these factors, the possibility of his or her participation in the investigation. The authors recommend measures to prevent this kind of crime and investigate them initially.
