Abstract.
The article is devoted to the problems of the paradoxical interaction of diametrically opposite social constants - truth and lie - in the issue of the protection of public interests by the officers of law-enforcement authorities, journalists, and specialists in the sphere of information security. Such examples of deceitful practices applied by them for achieving social justice as misinformation, legendizing, provocation are examined. The ethical and socio-philosophical side of the service of virtuous deceit to the highest public values is touched.
