Abstract. The article presents the results of a new approach to the study of the first stages of hantavirus infection pathogenesis in humans. The obtained data on the effective adsorption of the hantavirus on dust-making tiny particles with the preservation of the virus infectivity, elution with protein-containing solutions and the detection of the hantavirus in alveolar macrophages convincingly confirm the air-dust mechanism of infection in case of this dangerous natural focal contagion.
