Abstract.
The article describes a methodology for teaching students to make and read the drawings of details and assemblies using a graphical package to create the solid models of items. The methodology is developed and used at the department “Engineering Graphics” of N. E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The paper shows the advantages of using the solid models of items while studying the parts of the engineering graphics course “Connections and Their Elements” and “Reading an Assembly Drawing” by students. The authors provide a sample of fulfilling a task on plotting the models of details and an assembly and planning an assembly.
