Abstract.
The article considers the most effective ways of the implicit realization of the category of evaluation at lexical level. The subject of the study is a number of such lexical means as metaphors, euphemisms, allusions and neologisms. The researchers analyze their ability to convey the author’s evaluative judgments implicitly, to influence public opinion formation. The material of the study is the English-language electronic newspaper articles of 2014-2015.
