Abstract. The article discovers and analyzes the “mathematical principles” of “natural philosophy” by I. Newton. The paper focuses on understanding the methodological aspects of Newtonian worldview. As a conclusion, the author reproduces the logic of “mathematical” argument by I. Newton, who considered God a condition for cosmo-physical order and a guarantor of reliable knowledge. In fact, it’s an “author’s” version of teleological proof appealing to the mathematical harmony and geometrical practicability of the universe.
